The Gujarat Giants are elated to announce that Neeraj Kumar has been appointed as the captain of Gujarat Giants for the Pro Kabaddi League Season 11. We are also proud to announce Guman Singh as the side's vice-captain.

Known for his terrific defensive skills and tactical sharpness, Neeraj will lead the Giants with passion, dedication, and a relentless spirit that will make the team a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming campaign.

Talking about Neeraj’s journey in the PKL, the 28-year-old has been nothing short of extraordinary.

The Right Cover defender debuted in the seventh edition of the Pro Kabaddi League with the Patna Pirates, amassing 59 tackle points in 22 matches, including five super tackles and four High 5s, which made him the highest-scoring defender of his side.

Having accumulated 172 tackle points in 80 encounters, his ability to stop the raiders in their tracks with precision and agility makes him a critical player on the mat.

Ahead of the PKl Season 11, coach Ram Mehar Singh shared his thoughts on leadership and experience being the key factors in choosing the captain of the team.

"The captain should be senior and experienced. He needs to unite the team and guide them to play as one. During the game, he should be able to control the situation and motivate the players," the coach said, which reflects the traits of Neeraj as a player with a calm demeanour during crunch situations.

Speaking on the occasion, captain Neeraj Kumar said, “It's a great honour to captain the Gujarat Giants this season. The Giants family is a close-knit unit, and we are hopeful of achieving newer heights this year. Coach Ram Mehar has been working very hard with us in the pre-season camp, and the Adani Sportsline team has also helped us in every possible way. We have a balanced and enthusiastic squad, and can’t wait to get onto the mat.”

Guman Singh, on the other hand, has played 58 games in the tournament and has earned 407 points. He has achieved 12 Super Raids and 20 Super 10s. In the last season, Guman earned 168 points in 18 games. He accumulated 9 Super 10s and 4 Super Raids.

With Neeraj at the helm with Guman as his deputy, the Giant Army is all set to witness the panga with renewed energy and determination. We are excited to see our newest Giant lead us to new heights in the quest for our maiden PKL glory!
