In our final match of the home leg, we will face off against the Jaipur Pink Panthers at the EKA Arena by TransStadia tomorrow.

After three successive home losses, the need to end on a high has become all the more crucial. Our fans have backed us all through the home leg, and our Giants owe the crowd a victory. While we have hit a rough patch, there is still plenty of optimism around our team.

Tough times don’t last, tough teams do! If there’s one thing we know about our side it’s that they always overcome adversity. Take a look at our short but sweet stay in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League, despite being the underdogs we have always found a way, be it by hook or by crook.

The most encouraging thing for us has been the steady improvement in recent matches. Despite being on the wrong end of results, we have nearly comeback in every game, with just a small moment or rash decision going against us. As Coach Manpreet said, ‘’It’s the key moments that have gone against us, it’s just a matter of time before we bounce back.”

In our last match, Sunil Kumar put in a captains performance, while young Sonu Jaglan was the standout of our raiders. Sonu in particular could be key in taking the pressure off Sachin and Rohit, and it also solves the issue we’ve faced regarding the lack of a third raider in the side.

Our opponents for the night have enjoyed a wonderful start to season 7, with their skipper Deepak Niwas Hooda leading the raid department, while key defender Sandeep Kumar Dhull has been on song this season. Add Amit Hooda to the mix and the Panthers are a force to be reckoned with.

ey Giant:

Sachin Tanwar

Sachin has failed to live up to expectations this season, and what better way to make amends than on the final day of our home leg. He was a key figure the last time we faced the Panthers, and his 8 raid points helped us carve out a 2 point victory. Still without a Super 10, Sachin has gotten better in recent games, and tomorrow could be his night.

Head-To-Head:

In the 6 matches we have played against Jaipur, we’ve come out on top 5 times, including the last 4 encounters. We have the chance to make it 5 on the trot, but this will be our sternest challenge yet.

Key Battle:

Both Sunil Kumar and Sandeep Kumar Dhull have 3 High 5’s to their name this season. Their ability to inspire their defences will be put to the test in the heat of the battle. Sunil Kumar already has 4 Super tackles to his name this season, and would be hoping to add Deepak Hooda’s name to his list of victims. Sandeep, however, has scored 23 tackle points heading into the Ahmedabad leg, the same as Sunil and Parvesh have managed, but he’s played 3 matches fewer.

Expected Line Up:

After a stellar show last time out, Sonu should feature once again from the start. It will be interesting to see if More GB can reclaim his place, while Manpreet may once again tinker with our corner combinations.
