Gujarat Giants will take on Haryana Steelers in a crucial Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 9 fixture at the Shree Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune on Monday, November 14.
The Chandran Ranjit-led Giants will be desperate for a win after succumbing to a 27-46 defeat against Bengal Warriors in their last game at the same venue on Saturday.
Having registered five wins, six losses and one tie, the Giants are currently placed 11th in the PKL Season 9 standings with 31 points from 11 matches.
Under the tutelage of head coach Ram Mehar Singh, the two-time PKL finalists Gujarat Giants will need to win against the Haryana Steelers on Monday in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Heading into the must-win game against the Steelers, the Giants will bank on star raiders Rakesh and captain Chandran Ranjit. While Rakesh has been in impressive form for the Giants this season, having accumulated 118 raid points in 12 matches, Ranjit has also bagged 52 points in 10 matches.
On the other hand, Haryana Steelers will aim to end their four-match winless streak in the ongoing Pro Kabaddi when they face the Giants on Monday.
Led by captain Nitin Rawal, the Steelers suffered a 34-40 loss against U.P Yoddhas in their previous fixture on Friday.
With 31 points from 13 matches, the Manpreet Singh-coached outfit is placed 10th in the standings, having recorded just four victories this season.
