The 11th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League is just around the corner, and the Gujarat Giants are gearing up for it. To ensure our players are in top form, we have planned a training camp starting on August 31 in Delhi. This camp will be crucial as our team prepares for what promises to be a challenging season.
During the recent Pro Kabaddi League auction, we welcomed several new faces to our squad. Guman Singh, Vahid RezaEimehr, Himanshu Singh, Neeraj Kumar, Aadesh Siwach, and Raj Salunkhe have joined us, and we are excited to see what they bring to the team. We also brought back some familiar faces, including Mohammad Nabibakhsh, Sombir, Rohan Singh, and Manuj. This camp will give everyone a chance to bond, understand each other's playing styles, and work on team chemistry. It's essential that we identify their strengths and weaknesses before the season kicks off.
Before the auction, we retained five key players: Parteek Dahiya, Nitin, Rakesh Sungroya, Balaji D, and Jitender Yadav. Parteek and Rakesh were standout performers in season 10. Parteek played 20 matches and earned 141 points, including a remarkable 25-point game against the Bengal Warriors. Rakesh, on the other hand, played 21 matches and scored 114 points. Their contributions were vital to our success last season.
Our new addition, Guman Singh, had an outstanding tenth season with U Mumba, scoring 168 points in 18 games. With a total of 407 points in 58 games, he is a player of proven caliber. Neeraj Kumar has also been impressive in the league, with 174 points in 80 games, along with 11 Super Tackles and 9 High 5s. Himanshu Singh has scored 69 points in 31 games, and Sombir, who performed well for us last season with 52 points in 22 games, has a solid overall record of 198 points in 94 games. Sombir will be a key player for us in the upcoming season.
As we head into the training camp on August 31, 2024, our goal is to train hard and prepare for the tough season ahead. We made it to the playoffs in season X but this time, our eyes are set on winning our first-ever PKL title. With the talent and determination in our squad, we have what it takes to achieve this goal.
