Republic Day ended perfectly for the Gujarat Giants as we managed to bounce back in the Pro Kabaddi League's 10th season. After a tough loss to the Puneri Paltan a few days ago, we fought well and secured our 9th win of the season. This win is a great relief and brings back our lost momentum, propelling us to the 4th position on the points table.
The game started positively with Rakesh earning a crucial point, but U Mumba quickly fought back. Rakesh continued his good performance with a successful raid, while U Mumba's top player, Guman Singh, kept the pressure on us. Despite U Mumba taking the lead, Sonu's fantastic Super Raid brought us back into the game, and from there, we never looked back. Though U Mumba attempted a comeback with a Super Tackle, we went into half-time leading 20-17, setting the tone for the rest of the game.
The second half began with a successful raid from U Mumba, but our players showed resilience. Parteek Dahiya's raid and Sombir's tackle against Zafardanesh earned us crucial points. Guman Singh tried to keep U Mumba in the game, but Sonu and Parteek had different plans. Our defenders were outstanding, not making things easy for the Mumbai side. In the end, we secured a comfortable win over U Mumba with a score of 44-35, boosting our confidence.
Next, we'll face the Patna Pirates on their home ground on January 29. Despite our previous defeat against them, we are heading into this match with high confidence. But for now, it's time to celebrate this significant victory.
