The Gujarat Giants faced a challenging day against the Patna Pirates on Thursday at the Patliputra Indoor Stadium, Patna. Unfortunately, we were at the wrong end of the result. Patna Pirates climbed to the 4th position on the points table with this win.
The game kicked off with Sachin making a successful raid, putting Patna in the lead. The opening half of the game was a close affair but we managed to take the lead after superb raids from Parteek Dahiya and Nitin Jaglan. The first half ended with us holding a slim 2-point lead. It was an attritional first half, which ended at 12-10.
At the start of the second half, we were not able to execute a crucial All-Out. Our captain, Fazel Atrachali, had an off day, failing to score any points in the game. The Patna Pirates gained momentum, especially with Sandeep Kumar's successful Do or Die Raid, earning three touch points.
We were not able to keep up in the game and ultimately, the Pirates inflicted the only All-Out of the game, securing their victory.
It's a tough loss for us to digest, but we believe in our ability to bounce back. We wait for our next challenge against the Haryana Steelers in Delhi on Friday. Here's hoping for an exciting match and the beginning of something special for our team.
