For Gujarat Giants, we kicked off the season with a strong performance by defeating Bengaluru Bulls, showcasing our determination and skill. However, we faced challenges in our next two games against U Mumba and UP Yoddhas. Despite these setbacks, our team has shown resilience and potential, especially in our last match against UP Yoddhas. In this closely contested game, we pushed the Yoddhas to their limits, keeping them on the back foot. Himanshu Singh and Rakesh Sungroya were the standout performers for us, scoring 9 and 8 points, respectively. Himanshu, in particular, put on a brilliant display in the second half, almost turning the game around single-handedly. They managed to edge ahead and clinch the win only through a special effort from the Yoddhas. Himanshu has been our best player so far in the tournament, and his performances have been a bright spot as we look forward to making a comeback in the matches ahead.
Next up, we face Tamil Thalaivas, who have also had a commendable start to the season. They opened with an impressive 44-29 win over Telugu Titans, followed by a 35-30 victory against defending champions Puneri Paltan. Their only narrow loss came against Patna Pirates, with a score of 42-40, and they showcased their resilience by fighting back to tie against Jaipur Pink Panthers. With a solid team and a strong start, they are currently ranked third in the points table, making them tough opponents.
Historically, we have a good record against Tamil Thalaivas, having won 6 out of 10 encounters, including both matches last season. This positive record serves as an inspiration as we aim to regain our momentum in PKL Season 11. It promises to be an intense and exciting match as we look to secure a crucial win and get our campaign back on track.
