Gujarat Giants will lock horns with U.P. Yoddhas in their fifth Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 9 fixture at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday, October 19.
Under head coach Ram Mehar Singh, the Giants will look to bounce back after succumbing to a 18-25 defeat against Jaipur Pink Panthers on Saturday.
Having registered one win, two losses and one tie, the Sunil Kumar-led Giants are currently placed 10th in the PKL Season 9 standings with nine points on the board.
Meanwhile, Rakesh has been the standout raider for the Giants in the ongoing PKL season, having accumulated 44 raid points in four matches so far. Among the Giants’ defenders, Sourav Gulia has been outstanding as he has already registered 10 successful tackles so far.
On the other hand, U.P. Yoddhas head into the Gujarat Giants fixture after beating Bengaluru Bulls 44-37 in their last game on Sunday.
With two wins and as many losses, the Yoddhas are placed fourth in the PKL 9 standings with 12 points.
Surender Gill has been the standout performer for the Yoddhas, having amassed 47 raid points in four matches while right cover defender Ashu Singh has also contributed with 11 successful tackles.

Gujarat Giants have a superior head-to-head record against U.P. Yoddhas, winning four of the seven matches that they have clashed so far. The U.P. Yoddhas have registered just a solitary victory while two matches have ended in ties.
The last time these two sides locked horns, the Giants beat the Yoddhas 38-31 in a Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 fixture in February.
Going by their past head-to-head record, the Giants will have an edge over the Yoddhas as they will aim to continue their dominance over the Uttar Pradesh-outfit on Wednesday evening.
