Having secured a much-needed victory over Puneri Paltan in their last game, Gujarat Giants will look to continue their winning momentum when they lock horns with Patna Pirates in their 19th match of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 9 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday, December 2.

The Ram Mehar Singh-coached Giants rode on an all-round performance to defeat in-form Puneri Paltan 51-39 to stay in contention for the PKL Season 9 playoffs. The Giants' victory on Tuesday ended their six-match losing streak and brought five valuable points to their tally.

With six wins, 11 losses and one tie, the Chandran Ranjith-led side is currently placed 11th in the Pro Kabaddi Season 9 standings with 41 points from 18 games.

Meanwhile, the two-time PKL finalists need to win all their remaining four matches and also hope other results go their way in order to finish in the top six and advance to the knockout stage.

The Giants will once again bank on their star all-rounder Parteek Dahiya, who has been one of the standout players in the ninth edition of Pro Kabaddi. Parteek has already accumulated 131 raid points in 15 matches including eight Super 10s to his name.

On the other hand, Patna Pirates head into the fixture after losing 33-35 to U.P. Yoddhas in their previous game on Saturday.

Having accrued 48 points from 18 games, the Pirates are currently placed ninth in the standing and will aim to bounce back against the Giants to stay in contention for the playoffs.

For the Pirates, star raider Sachin will be the player to watch out for, having amassed 155 raid points in 17 matches so far.
