The Noida leg of the Pro Kabaddi League hasn’t gone as planned for the Gujarat Giants, as we faced another challenging defeat against the Haryana Steelers. This marks the fifth time in a row the Steelers have bested us, maintaining their winning streak since last season. It was a well-fought match, and credit must go to Haryana for their resilience and control. Though disappointed, we still believe in our players’ potential to turn things around.

The game kicked off on a positive note for us as Sombir secured an early tackle point, giving us the start we wanted. We also managed a bonus point and briefly took the lead. However, the Steelers responded quickly, putting together a strong run to turn the score in their favor, 2-5. Our team fought back with determination and, courtesy of a well-timed Super Tackle, we managed to close the gap, bringing the score to 6-7. Rakesh was instrumental in leveling the score, but soon after, Guman was tackled, giving Haryana the edge again.

Throughout the first half, it was a neck-and-neck battle as both teams showed grit and skill. Just when we were pressing hard, the Steelers managed a Super Raid, extending their lead. Shadloui then led a powerful play, inflicting an All Out on us, which stretched their advantage. By halftime, the scoreboard read 12-18, and we knew we had an uphill climb ahead.

Rakesh came out strong in the second half, scoring a quick bonus point that gave us hope. Despite our best efforts, the Steelers continued to control the game. Shadloui, on an excellent night, achieved another Super Tackle, strengthening their hold on the match. Our players kept pushing to close the gap, but Haryana’s defense was relentless, and they never gave us an opportunity to catch up. With two minutes left, the Steelers had a commanding 13-point lead. As the game neared its end, Haryana inflicted one final All Out, sealing their victory with a score of 39-23. Rakesh was our top performer, collecting 7 points, showcasing his consistent efforts.

It was undoubtedly a tough outing for the Gujarat Giants, but we’re already looking ahead to our next match on Monday against the three-time champions, Patna Pirates. We know our players have the potential to break this streak, and we’re hopeful for an exciting, action-packed game as we search for that elusive win. Let’s continue to believe and back our team as they give it their all.
