Parteek Dahiya has emerged as a pivotal player for the Gujarat Giants since joining the team in season 9 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). Parteek's journey into Kabaddi started with inspiration from his uncle, Deepak Niwas Hooda, who played in PKL season 3. Despite being a bright student, Parteek was persuaded by his uncle to pursue a career in Kabaddi, a decision that has paid off handsomely. Initially, Parteek played as a right-corner defender under the mentorship of his uncle and coach Jagmohan Narwal. Over time, he transitioned to focusing on raiding from the left side, showcasing his versatility on the court.
Parteek has participated in numerous tournaments, including Khelo India and the Junior and Senior Nationals. Representing Haryana, he has won gold medals, further establishing his reputation in the sport. Coming from a family with a strong sports background, his sister is also an accomplished athlete, excelling in boxing.
Parteek's debut in the K7 Qualifiers was nothing short of spectacular. In his first game, he scored 20 points, followed by another 20 points in the subsequent match. Over the course of three games, he amassed an impressive 55 points for his team, demonstrating his potential early on.
Despite facing personal challenges, such as losing his father to Covid-19, Parteek remained dedicated to his passion for Kabaddi. Parteek continued his stellar form, notably scoring 25 points in a single game against the Bengal Warriors and reaching a milestone of 200 raid points for the season. His brilliant performance in the reverse fixture against the Bengal Warriors, where he scored 13 points, helped secure a crucial win for the team. Additionally, he achieved 9 Super Raids, the joint-most in the 10th season of PKL.
