The Gujarat Giants had a fantastic start to Season 11 of the Pro Kabaddi League, securing a 36-32 victory over the Bengaluru Bulls in the season opener. Despite trailing at halftime, the team showed tremendous grit to make a comeback in the second half and claim a well-deserved win. Now, we are gearing up for our next challenge as we face U Mumba on 23rd October 2024 in Hyderabad. After starting the season on a high, we are looking forward to keeping the momentum going and aiming for back-to-back wins.

One of the standout performers in the first game was Guman Singh, a former U Mumba player, who played a crucial role in our victory against Bengaluru Bulls. He contributed 6 valuable points that helped swing the game in our favor. How he matches up against his former team will be a key factor for us.

Sombir was a force to reckon with in our defense, earning a High 5 and locking up the opposition raiders. Meanwhile, Himanshu Singh made a huge impact after coming on in the second half. In just 5 minutes, Himanshu collected 5 points and shifted the momentum in our favour, eventually finishing with 7 points.

The ever-reliable Parteek also continued his great form from last season, scoring 8 points, including a decisive 2-point raid that sealed the win. It was a complete team effort, with every player stepping up when needed.

Looking ahead to our game against U Mumba, we know it won’t be easy. U Mumba lost their first match to Dabang Delhi K.C., but they have a strong lineup with players like Vishal Choudhary, Manjeet, Parvesh Bhainswal, and Rinku, all of whom can pose a serious threat. Despite their tough start, we are fully aware of the challenges they bring.

Historically, we have had a good record against U Mumba, winning 9 out of the 14 matches we’ve played against them. Last season, we won both matches against them, and we hope to continue that success this time around.
