The wait is finally over. The time has come for our fans to pack the arena and roar for our Giants as it promises to be 6 days of non-stop edge of your seat Kabaddi action.

The Ahmedabad leg begins tomorrow, and Gujarat Fortunegiants will be in action against Tamil Thalaivas in the opening match at the EKA Arena by Transstadia. With 9 wins in their 11 encounters at home, the Giants head into this fixture with confidence, despite the fact that other heavyweights like Patna and U Mumba have struggled in their backyards in Season 7.

Manpreet’s young troops started the season on a bright note with three emphatic wins, but two back-to-back defeats have placed the Giants in fifth spot on the table with 16 points.

The biggest positive has been the fact that our star raider Sachin Tanwar has regained his form, scoring an impressive 9 raid points against Puneri Paltan in the previous encounter. The chants of ‘Sachin Sachin’ will surely reverberate through the arena when he steps on the mat tomorrow.

Rohit Gulia has been the star of Season 7, and Manpreet will be expecting another strong show from the raider, especially against a stern defensive side like Tamil Thalaivas.

More G B has raised his level this season with a series of commanding all-round performances under his belt, and we can undoubtedly bank on him in do-or-die raids and Super tackle situations.

One of the main concerns heading into the fixture is the form of our reliable defensive duo Sunil Kumar and Parvesh Bhainswal. Sunil and Parvesh managed just two tackle points between them, however, we expect them to find their feet and start firing in front of our home fans.

The corner defenders Sumit and Ruturaj will also look to step up to the plate and stop Tamil Thalaivas’ star raiders Ajay Thakur and Rahul Chaudhari.

Key Giants

Sachin Tanwar

Despite not being at his very best in the first four matches, Sachin Tanwar got into his groove against Puneri Paltan, and he will be our key Giant going forward against Tamil Thalaivas.

Sachin has always performed at a high level at home, notching up 84 raid points in 11 matches including 3 Super 10’s. The key battle will be Sachin going up against Manjeet Chhillar, one of the most in-form defenders in Season 7.

Head-To-Head

Gujarat Fortunegiants 1-1 Tamil Thalaivas

The Giants narrowly lost to Tamil Thalaivas by a solitary point in a thrilling encounter in Season 5. However, they avenged that loss by beating them comprehensively; 36-25 in Patna last season.

Probable Line-up

Having gone with the same Starting 7 in the first four matches, Manpreet replaced Ankit with Ruturaj Koravi in the last match. Although Ruturaj didn’t quite show his prowess against Puneri Paltan, he could once again be given the nod ahead of Ankit tomorrow.

Sachin Tanwar, Parvesh Bhainswal, Sumit Malik, Rohit Gulia, Sunil Kumar(C), Ruturaj Koravi, More GB.
