The Women’s Premier League Auction is fast approaching, scheduled for the 15th of December. With teams retaining their core players, the auction will be crucial to filling the remaining slots using the purse left.

We retained 14 players ahead of the tournament. Here is the list of retained players: Beth Mooney, Laura Wolvaardt, Phoebe Litchfield, Bharti Fulmali, Dayalan Hemalatha, Ash Gardner, Harleen Deol, Sayali Satghare, Kashvee Gautam, Mannat Kashyap, Meghna Singh, Priya Mishra, Shabnam Shakil, and Tanuja Kanwer.

Kashvee Gautam, who missed the previous season due to an injury, is ready to make her return in 2025. Her pace bowling will add depth to our attack. The rest of the squad remains unchanged.

Beth Mooney was our top scorer in WPL 2024 with 285 runs, leading the batting lineup. Laura Wolvaardt complemented her well at the top, forming a dependable opening pair. Ash Gardner, one of the best all-rounders in the world, will be pivotal in the middle order with the bat and as a wicket-taking option with the ball.

Harleen Deol had an unfortunate injury mid-season but showed her potential in the games she played. She is a rising Indian star, and we’re eager to see her back in action. Shabnam Shakil, a promising youngster, impressed everyone with her brilliant spell against UP Warriorz last season. We are looking forward to seeing her perform again this year.

Our bowling lineup is packed with quality options, including Meghna Singh, Tanuja Kanwer, Kashvee Gautam, and Priya Mishra, ensuring we have a well-rounded attack.

Ahead of the auction, we released 7 players: Kathryn Bryce, Lauren Cheatle, Lea Tahuhu, Sneh Rana, Tarannum Pathan, Trisha Poojitha, and Veda Krishnamurthy. Lauren Cheatle missed the entire season last year and was replaced by Lea Tahuhu. Kathryn Bryce performed well for us, and it was difficult to let her go.

We enter the auction with a purse of ₹4.4 Crore and four slots to fill, including two overseas players spots. Each team is allowed a maximum of six overseas players in their squad. We may look to add a batter and an all-rounder to strengthen our team further.

With a solid core already in place, the WPL Auction is an opportunity to make our squad even stronger as we aim for success in WPL 2025.
