
Gujarat Giants will look to return to winning ways when they lock horns with Delhi Capitals in their fourth match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday, February 25.
Despite Kashvee Gautam’s impressive bowling spell (2/15), the Giants succumbed to a five-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
Put in to bat, Harleen Deol (32) and Kashvee Gautam (20) helped the Giants post 120 in their allotted overs. Later, the Ashleigh Gardner-led outfit fought till the very end, however, it wasn’t enough as Mumbai Indians chased down the target in 16.1 overs.
Earlier, the Giants secured a comprehensive six-wicket win over UP Warriorz in their second game after starting the 2025 season with a disappointing loss against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
With one win and two losses, the Giants are currently placed fifth in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 standings with two points from three matches.
Meanwhile, captain Ashleigh Gardner has led from the front with both bat and ball in the ongoing T20 tournament.
The 27-year-old has been the leading run-scorer for the Giants in WPL 2025, having amassed 141 runs in three matches at an average of 70.50 and a strike rate of 178.48 with two fifties to her name. Additionally, Gardner has also claimed four wickets in the ongoing edition of the WPL at an average of 23.25.
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals will head into the game after suffering a 33-run defeat against UP Warriorz on Sunday.
The Meg Lanning-led Capitals are currently placed fourth in the WPL 2025 standings with two wins and two losses.
