Our Giants had a memorable TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 campaign as we registered our best-ever finish in the league.
We qualified for the TATA WPL playoffs for the first time in 3 seasons under the leadership of Ashleigh Gardner. With eight points from eight matches, we finished third in the WPL 2025 standings to book our place in the Eliminator.
However, our fruitful season ended in the TATA WPL 2025 Eliminator after going down to eventual champions Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
“This group's got a lot to be proud of. So many positive stories to come out of this tournament,” Gardner summed up.
“Different people have stood up at different times. Absolute pleasure to be able to lead this team,” our skipper added.
Here’s how our TATA WPL 2025 campaign panned out:
A challenging start

Later, our bowlers fought hard till the very end, however, it wasn’t enough as the Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) chased down the required target at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
After an early setback, our Giants quickly bounced back with an emphatic six-wicket victory over UP Warriorz to register our first win of the season in Vadodara.
Our talented leg-spinner Priya Mishra produced a magical spell of 3/25 while Deandra Dottin and Gardner claimed two wickets each to restrict the Warriorz to 143/9. Later, Gardner played a match-winning knock (52 off 32 balls) to guide us over the line with two overs to spare.
Despite our best efforts, our Giants went down to Mumbai Indians and later against Delhi Capitals in the next two matches.
